Thus, FPS is a good indicator while running a CPU stability test. However, if the frame rate drops below 30 FPS, it means that something is wrong (for example, the system cannot keep up with the current workload). As a rule, in most cases, browsers render frames at a speed of 60 FPS (although sometimes a slightly lower speed may be acceptable). The number of frames per second (abbreviated as FPS) indicates how fast your browser is able to render new frames. As you might have guessed, the number of points directly depends on the speed and the test duration. The number of score points indicates how many hashes were computed during the test. ![]() Thus, more power and threads will provide higher speed and CPU load (for example, 50% power + 10 threads will result in a 500% load). Since the power and the number of threads almost proportionally affect the speed, a 100% power + 1 thread will give the same speed as 50% power + 2 threads, or 25% power + 4 threads. The power indicates how much CPU time can be used by one thread (for example, 100% power means full speed without time idle). Multi-core CPUs cope better with the multithreading, this is why in such cases modern processors work faster and get better results. Thus, more threads lead to a higher speed, but at the same time to a higher load. The number of threads determines the number of simultaneous operations for computing hashes. However, you need to remember that for maximum speed you need to use the full power of the CPU (that is, specify as many threads and power as possible). Obviously, a more powerful processor develops a higher speed. The speed measures how fast the processor is, and is measured in the number of hash operations per second. Given that not all processors and devices withstand high loads, it is strongly recommended to gradually increase indicator values. Hoping to play Horizon in 4K with performance beyond what the PS4 version can offer? You may also be out of luck. Yet on my setup? Despite playing on a 2080 Ti with a beefy CPU, I experienced framerates that seesawed between the mid 40s and low 50s at the same resolution. The hardware team has also been busy benchmarking the game and experienced averages upwards of 75fps at 1440p on an RTX 2080. Happily for our features producer James Davenport, he ran Horizon at a mostly consistent 60fps at 1440p resolution on an RTX 2080 GPU. Several of the team have played the game across a variety of hardware, and the results are somewhat patchy. Snow-covered wastelands that outdo Rise of the Tomb Raider’s tundras eventually give way to baking prairies that could pass for one of Red Dead Redemption 2’s sweltering deserts.Įarly signs point to Horizon being a slightly inconsistent PC port, though. While the opening hours point to the sort of generic, frost-covered environment so many hypothermia-courting games have already covered, Horizon’s gorgeous world quickly proves itself to be one of the most visually varied around.Īs the story progresses and the restrictions Aloy has been bound by lift, the hunter quickly finds her feet scampering across a hugely diverse landscape. Alongside The Witcher 3, this is one of the most intriguing, believably lived-in open worlds on PC. Horizon Zero Dawn’s world is a lot more interesting than Hope County, though. Horizon’s gorgeous world quickly proves itself to be one of the most visually varied around. Aloy is great at swiping oversized machines down in wide open plains, but plonk her in a boxy camp with guards who can swarm from all sides, and she’s nowhere near as competent a fighter. These base-conquering quests appear all over, so it’s a shame they never showcase the sort of streamlined sneaky confidence Ubisoft finally hit with Far Cry 5. Want to earn that fancy stealth drop that will let you plummet 50ft without being heard, or open up that skill that lets Aloy draw her bow in slow-motion whenever she jumps? You better murder every primitive bad guy in that nearby camp with the minimum of fuss. What makes these samey, if inoffensive assaults worthwhile? The dangling promise of more XP and unlocking fresh machine-taming abilities. Clearly Aloy copied Far Cry 3 when they were both taking that course in Enemy Strongholds 101, because her map is dotted with encampments you’re encouraged to capture through repetitive stealth takedowns and silent bow kills. In 2020, those overly familiar notes are even more out of tune. When Horizon first launched on console three years ago, there’s no denying it was a little derivative. ![]() The first time I encountered one, I may as well have been a flummoxed Alan Grant fumbling to shake off his shades after drinking in the sight of Jurassic Park’s grazing brachiosaurus.Įncounters with Aloy’s fellow humans don’t fare quite so well. These magnificent leviathans more or less work like walking versions of Far Cry’s antenna towers, uncovering areas of the map once you clamber up and hack their satellite skulls. ![]() Most captivating of all? Those moments where you crane the camera skywards to admire a lumbering Tallneck leisurely stomping around a set perimeter. The next, you might witness a group of smaller machines scurrying out of the path of a deadly Ravager, as Horizon’s three-ton puma sniffs around for its next likely mechanised meal. One moment you might observe jittery packs of elk-like Broadheads munching on knee high grass, because apparently robots need to eat too. Well, if you can call a 45-foot android crocodile slithering into a lake natural. Like the odd magic moment where you come across a wild stallion playfully rolling around in the morning dew of Red Dead Redemption’s wetlands, Horizon’s beasts can enthrall with the same style of naturalistic behaviour. It’s also fascinating to see these mechanical wonders simply interact with their environment when they think you’re not looking. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Edit Binary File in Linux Convert Binary File to Text in Linux For instance, we can remove the first-line hex entries 694c to see what happens. For the court lines, the important hex values are one block before the colour block. In the above example the "60E528C3" is for the key area, so you'll change each "colour" block coming after each "60E528C3" block. For the key/surrounding area, the important ones are 2 blocks before (excluding the 00000000s). Use the "Base Converter" under "Tools" in Hex Workshop to convert the decimal forms to the hex forms.įor each section of the court you'll have to edit more than one block of hex values and all I can tell you about the sections is that you'll need to take a look at the hex blocks PRECEDING the "colour" section. Simply, these hex values stand for the RGB values, the first for the BLUE value (in hex form, "21"), the second for the GREEN value (in hex form, "4D"), and the 3rd for the RED value (in hex form, "C4"). Here's the BIG tip, exclude the "FF" and you'll have 3 hex values (21 4D C4). In this example the blocks you'd want to change would be the "214DC4FF". If you're confused, then take a look at each section, and you'll see that at the end, there's a bunch of hex values that are repeating over and over, this is the section you want to change. Immediately following that there are repeating sets of hex values that is the part you want to change. So back to the editing, under each heading there's a bunch of junk that I don't know about and then there's another bunch of 00s and 01s and 02s (hex form) and then there's another piece of junk that I also don't know what it does (haven't experimented). By the way, San Antonio's bin file is the easiest to change, because it has a separate section for the key and a separate section for the area around the court. I write xxxxx because it is sometimes different, just check out San Antonio's bin file. 'xxxxxhrd' is for when 'textured key' is on and 'xxxxxsft' is for when it is off. Different types of those fonts are more readable at small sizes than others, while some of them have better characteristics in your large heading copy. Not all serif and sans-serif headings are equally suitable for body and headline copy. Most of them use script and display typefaces for the headline. Sometimes we can use them for title, logo, or else. People use Serif and sans-serif typefaces for body copy or headlines. Serif typefaces, sans-serif typefaces, script typefaces, monospaced type spaces, and display typefaces are five basic typefaces. There is also a feature that makes the seat vibrate when the car moves out of it’s lane lines. In the mirror a little car icon lights up anytime someone is approaching or is in your blind spot. One of my favorite safety features are the side mirrors. There is a work around and you can read more about that here. This means movies on newer iPads or iPhones with lightning connections can not be played on the Yukon television using the composite/USB connectors. The 2015 Yukon has outdated composite connections and doesn’t have an HDMI connection. Yet, GMC doesn’t have the technology to make it easy or enjoyable to use. It’s a family vehicle and the TV is a wonderful feature for long trips. The entertainment system is one of the biggest weaknesses of the 2015 Yukon in my book. It’s my perspective I guess? I don’t sit back there and expect it to be as roomy as the front seat but I can certainly ride back there and not get out limping. Many people disagree but I myself have sat back in the third row and feel it has a good amount of space. My kids can easily get in and out of the third row. There are a lot of extra family friendly perks that come with a mini van that don’t come with the Yukon though, so it’s a trade off. The bucket seats give the convenience of a mini van interior without having to drive a mini van. I must admit one of the biggest reasons I was drawn to the Yukon were the second row bucket seats. I also like that the car sits high enough off the ground that I don’t grind into curbs or pavement when I go up over a curb (happens more often than I like to admit) or there is a steep hill. This combined with the seats adjusting up, down, forward and backward allows me to position myself where I can see well in all directions.
